As annual traditions go, King’s Day (Koningsdag in Dutch) is one of the more fun and carefree public holidays we have here in the Netherlands. It’s the King’s birthday, but most people take the chance to enjoy the sun, a few drinks and all the festivities that are held throughout the country. It is the day that the entire country turns orange (our national color).
